I know what you're saying. I've gained about 35 pounds, now, and I've got 2 months to go! Not much leeway with the 25 to 35 pound range. I'm already there. Hmph.
don't stress over it. i gained 8 lbs over 1 week when i was pregnant with DD, contributing to the total 65 i gained with her. most of it was fluid retention and most of it was gone within a few weeks after delivery.
I'm up 30lbs. I'm a little under where I was at this point with DS (gained 50lbs with him total). I'm hoping to end up around 40lbs, but my doc says my body will do what it wants as long as I'm not eating ridiculous amounts of food/desserts, etc. She is not concerned at all. Try not to worry about it too much.
Exactly where I'm at too. I talked with my doc last week because I was concerned, told her exactly what I ate on a day to day basis and my exercise/activity level, and she said I was fine and nothing I can do about it. She thinks it is mostly fluid retention and I may not gain any more weight. Once it cools off, swelling weight will go down and baby weight goes up. I hope so!
Thank you for posting this! I got on the scale (at home) for the first time today and have gained 24 pounds. I said I would gain as much as I needed to for a healthy pregnancy, but it's just hard to see the numbers on the scale!
Let's all just remember - We are doing this for our children and it's perfectly healthy and normal. Plus, I'd like to start using the fan in my bathroom again - thus eliminating the foggy mirror! :-)
I was going to say, a good portion of that may be water weight gain, and even if its not, remember that if you BF, thats around 200-400 calories per feeding that you lose, so its not like you wont ever work that weight off.

Don't panic, me too! Up 25 lbs at 28 weeks! The nurse was a bit of a jerk about it ("You know, you're really only supposed to gain about a pound a week.") but my doctor said that as long as I am not doing anything differently like eating a ton of junk and not being active, obviously the baby needed me to gain that weight.
I guess technically now I should be SecondBabyMomma
You really shouldn't worry unless your doctor is worried! I gained 44lbs with DS, but this time I've only gained 5. Everyone, and every pregnancy is different!
