Thoughts on Met while BF?

I have read conflicting things regarding taking metformin while breastfeeding.  I'm unsure how to proceed.  My OB is fine with it, and I'm going to check with Caroline's pedi on Friday. 

Here's the deal.  We want to start TTC in December, after I wean Caroline in November.  I need to start metformin in anticipation of that. My PCOS is acting up right now, and I need the metformin to control it. 

Early weaning is not an option.  I will BF till Caroline turns a year old in November, no matter what...even if that means I can't go on metformin.   

So, what would you do?

    Personally, I wouldn't start Met until I stopped BFing.

    My dr said that studies are inconclusive with met and bf, so she didn't feel comfortable with me taking it. I waited until I weaned to start it.

    I'm back on Met and still bfing. My OB is fine with it.

    I did it in a last-ditch effort to up my supply. It didn't work in that regard, but DD had no problems with it.
