3rd Trimester

What does "baby movement" feels like?

I'm at 15 weeks, it's probably too early to even feel the baby move or kick. But I want to know in advance how it feels like so I can look for the signs when that actually happens!

Ladies, please tell me what to look for!! Thanks much!!

  • You'll know, just be patient.
  • You'll definitely know. I thought "maybe" for a few weeks, but was sitting at the computer one day and felt a poke..and there was no question it was the baby. Its hard to wait for, but worth it!

  • You'll know it when you feel it.  Cliche, and frustrating answer, but true.

  • Mine was distinct--suddenly I felt something pushing against my insides and dragging itself along, then it gave me a few taps.

I will say that up until that point I jumped just about every time my tummy growled because everything felt weird with my organs all shifting into new locations.

  • You'll know. Just hang in there. I was about 22 weeks before I definitely felt my LO. It wasn't a strong kick, but like a tap.

  • For me it was like little muscle spasms.  Then it became pokes and now I entertain myself for long periods of time by watching my belly morph as she moves around.

    This exactly

  • Best way I can describe it: poke the inside of your cheek with your tongue, that's what it feels like in the beginning.

It's not really like that now that he's bigger.

  • I never felt the little "flutters" that some women feel.  For me, at first, it felt like a gas bubble, but no gas came out!  I started to feel "true" movement about 21 weeks.  Now, it defnitely feels like something is in there!  Occasionally it will feel like intestinal gurgles to actual big kicks/jabs, and I have seen the motion on a few occasions.

I agree with PPs that when you feel it, you will know!

  • I had a couple days of fluttering at 21 weeks, then the soft poking started.  mr. dree could feel movement at around 25-26 weeks.

This. I never had flutters like some do. When they start moving, you'll know.
