I have slowly been trying to improve my house to add our touch to it. When we first moved in we were content with the way it looked but now I am adding our own personal touch to the house. I am redoing our bedroom in red, black, and white.
So, now i am moving on to redoing the kitchen. I have slowly made it into a wine and grape theme. My kitchen walls are currently white (dirty white I might add from people touching the walls) The top border of the kitchen is a wallpaper trim of grapes. I have lots of fat chef stuff and most of them are holding grapes or wine. I have purple curtains and a clock with grapes and a bottle of wine on it... So I have alot of purple wine colored accents in the kitchen and am trying to think of a color to paint the walls. What color would look really good with purple accents? TIA! (I tried to add PIP's of my kitchen, but my computer is being goofy right now sorry)
Re: Need color ideas for my kitchen (NTTGPR)
I bet a olive green color would work. It may play off of the vines of the grapes.
Yah, I had green in the back of my head because I had a family friend suggest that or a sand color. For some reason I can't get yellow out of my head though. I will probably go with the majoritys vote though lol
I think a green could look nice, but I also worry that there will be too much green and purple in the kitchen with all the other accents.
What about a tan color. Keep it neutral since you have lots of accents in it already?

Yah, the cupboards are a light oak color. And right now we have light tile (white and tan colors I think) But they are shabby looking and when we get extra money we plan on putting in wood floors.

Hi...just popping over from TTCAL
I have the whole wine/grape theme in my kitchen/dining room and one side I painted an olive green and the other side I painted a purple. I dont think its too much with the accents.

This. Although if you want to go a little lighter/brighter a sunshine yellow (not primary color yellow or banana) is always a nice way to brighten a kitchen.

I immediately thought of a deep wine/purpley color because I'm pretty bold with color choices- until I read that all of your accents are already that color. Then I went to a sandy color like some PPs said. I'm not sure about the green, it sounds a little ninja turtle-y to me (but thats probably just me..)
If you're trying for a bigger overhaul, I definitely say go for the plum/wine color and just slowly replace your accents with more neutral colors. But if you're not interested in that much work (and money) go for tan or gray.
