They seriously called me at 7:30 this morning, (luckily I was already up and showered or else I would have been super pissy) with blood results from last week. My A1C has gone from 6.9 to 5.8 so it looks like the met really is working! Woo Hoo! He is hoping that the lower number will mean ovulation, but we shall see.
The nurse who called did get a huge side eye from me today though, when she told me he wants me to use OPKs on top of charting this month to see if we see any surge, and she told me, I quote, "Start testing on day ten because you ovulate anywhere from 14 to 18 days after your period started."
Um ok lady, in case you didn't notice my last cycle was 80 freakin' days, and I am not hopeful to O within that time frame, thank you very much. But I guess miracles do happen, right?
Hope you all are having a great friday morning!!

Re: Update from my doctor's office!!
Congrats Heather.
And UGH. about the nurse. Smack her when you go in next ok?
YAY! I'm so glad the met seems to be working. At least being sick isn't for nothing!
And yeah, the nurse gets a big side eye from me as well!
Happy Friday!!!
Yay, Heather! I'm glad you got good news from the doctor! As for the nurse, I am always amazed at how uninformed people can be that work in the medical field. Thank goodness you know better and can advocate for yourself - and can pee on OPKs whenever you feel like it!
I am seriously shocked that people who deal with fertility and pregnancy still believe the whole "you O on day 14 blah blah blah" line. Shocked I tell you.
I hope this goes well for you Heather!
So happy you got some good news!
As far as the nurse goes, she gets the side eye from me too.

You should have asked that nurse if she was going to pay for all those OPKs lol.
GL!!
As a nurse I am constantly amazed at the dumbasses that are allowed to graduate from nursing school. Even though this might not be common knowledge it should be for a nurse working at an OBGYN's office.
Yay for a lower A1C and hopefully the big O:) Good luck.
