you are my hero!!!

i thought i nursed for the longest on this board, but you have me beat by 5 months! that's so awesome!

did you do child-led weaning or did you make the decision? i did child-led, and my son stopped asking at just over 2.5 years (for several weeks, then remembered how much he liked "mommy time" but it was too late then as I'd dried up).

Re: photo_nut

  • I guess it was both because I got pregnant, and every time she would nurse I would have to throw up, it triggered my morning sickness (I have HG and need to be on zofran), so I guess she stopped because I kept having to stop to run into the bathroom. It became less and less and then we should ask I would tell her I couldn't because it made me sick.  I had to explain I had a baby in my belly and I couldn't do things like I used to because it made my stomach upset. Plus most of the time she nursed, she played around anyways. She didn't seem to get too upset, maybe once or twice, so I think she was ready anyway. I was around 9-10 weeks when she stopped.

She had a lot of eating issues though, she was very delayed with her eating for some reasons, I guess because of her allergies, so she didn't really even eat until she was 2 1/2, and then when she started to pick up eating more a little before 3, she nursed less.  It was tough because she really nursed a lot until she was 2 1/2. I don't know if I have the strength to nurse like that again, especially keeping up the elimination diet I had.
