Especially if I keep having BMs the size of a small child!! I was just in there for at least 20 minutes. LOL... anyone else awaiting the few loose stools before labor?

Oh... me too. I actually wondered if I was having the baby once last week. I have found that if I drink a homemade fruit smoothie everyday, it makes a huge difference. I use about a 1/2 cup of prune juice in it plus strawberries, blueberries a small banana and Activia yogurt. It's a meal in itself. I REALLY notice if I forgo the smoothie for a day of two.

I was in the hospital for a few weeks before having the twins last August and they gave me a stool softener every day. It was kind embarrassing but you can imagine how much worse that problem got with laying in bed alllll day plus taking extra iron (including by IV) due to severe anemia. It was such a relief tho, I went great!

I think this is why I haven't had any issues. I've been trying really hard to get 8 servings of fruits and veggies every day, starting with a huge smoothie each morning.
I also don't put any ice in my smoothies because I HATE when it starts to melt and is all watery. I freeze the berries and pieces of chopped banana instead, which makes it nice and thick and cold.
i was taking zofran in the beginning and had no idea the constipation would be so bad from it - so i didnt start taking colace until about a week after i started the zofran. then i had about a week straight of ENORMOUS BM's lol. i cant even tell you how many times i cried on the toilet. not to be gross and TMI but seriously - comparable to a soda can! haha. soooo gross.
needless to say i havent stoppe dthe colace because im afraid to! i stopped zofran at 21 weeks but now im on iron supplements so im not taking my chances. after i have this baby im sending the makers of colace a thank you card!
