WDYT of Ira?

Just heard this name and I think it's adorable. Though very uncommon, so what do you think of it? Could it be short for something?

I like a lot of older names, but I'm not completely digging Ira...reminds me of Ira from City Slickers and a Roth IRA. Not that it isn't a real, biblical name, but just not my style.

It was my great uncle's name, so I can't picture anyone but him when I think of it.  NMS at all.

I think of a few things: a large car dealership near me, an old man, or this really dorky kid I went to school with.

It isn't short for anything, it is just Ira. 

 It was my grandfather's name.  I personally prefer it as a middle name.

Me too. My mind jumped to Seinfeld though  I'm not sure why.

I like the name Ira. I think it's fine as a stand alone name.

I work at a Credit Union, so my mind immediately jumps to "Individual Retirement Account" 

I've heard WAY worse though!

Not a name I would use, but I know and Ira (who is not Jewish or old) and he's a pretty cool guy.

Its not short for anything. And I just think old guy and 'ew.' I know a lot of old names are coming back, but this should stay away. I suppose I can see the appeal, but still- ew.

IRA IRA ZERO DOWN AT IRA! haha there was a car dealership named ira near where i grew up.. and that was thier commercial

Cousin Ira from "Mad About You" from the early 90s.  I am probably making myself look old by even knowing that.

I don't mind it though.
