The first thing I think of when I see those names is WTF?
Annabella is ok, it's just a bit of a mouthful and nms. Brooklynn is mispelled Brooklyn as in the borough in NY. I don't even know what is happening with Skelly Quay.
All I can do is hope that this was posted as a joke.
I don't hate your girl's name...I would defintely prefer Annabelle over Annabella (it just sounds like you're trying to add an extra syllable to make it extra feminine/flowy) and I'm not a fan of Brooklyn its NMS. I would go with Annabelle Brooke or Annabelle Lynn if it were me.
Yikes for your boy's name Honestly the first thing that came to my mind when I read Skelly was Scally (sp?) as in a pirate 'Scally Wag' kind of thing. And I'm really not a fan of Quay either. It sounds made up to me, and also pretty feminine. So the fact that your boy's name has Kelly in it, and then the mn sounds so feminine (and as pp said rhymes with gay) I feel like it lends itself to a LOT of school-age teasing. I hope you change your mind..what about Sullivan (nn Sully) instead of Skelly?
The boy name is really bad. Skelly is not a first name... despite the fact that your father was given it as a middle name. When I Googled it, the only significant thing that came up was an oil company.
And Quay?? Why would your SO want your child named after a shipping wharf??
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

THis for the girls name. As someone else said- it's a mouthful. But not horrible.
But the boys name. Come on. You can't be serious. Not all family names should be passed down, or you can pass it down as a MN. But as a first? Horrible. THen coupled w/ that MN? Even worse.

This about the girl's name. I won't even comment on the boy's name.
Annabella is fine. Brooklyn is definitely NMS, but at least it's not totally off-the-wall.
Skelly. Um, I think skeleton. Then I think that big monster on Monsters Inc (was it Sully?). Then I think "Kelly" with a random S thrown on the front. Either way, not good.
Quay doesn't even register in my mind as a name so I'm not sure how to critique it.
The girl's name is ok. Annabella is fine, and I could honestly care less about middle names since no one every hears them in the adult world.
The boy's name is NOT. I don't want to attack you because you're trying to name your child after your father, but that's not even a good choice. I agree with a PP that the first name is a name that SHOULDN'T be passed down! It's truly awful. If you want to pass your father's mn down, use it as a mn where no one will see it and give your child a different first name.

I don't know what to say about the boy name. Kelly is fine, Quinn is fine. But I don't understand where these two are coming from. Too "out there" for my taste.
Where I live "Skelly" is kinda a slang term for someone who is nasty, dirty, homeless looking, etc. So, that is the first thing I think of when I see that name..sorry
I would also like to mention that "quay" is pronounced "key"... so it doesn't rhyme with "gay" like a few pp's have said.
Doesn't make it any less terrible though....
Thank you, I couldn't figure out why pp were saying it rhymes with Gay. It is pronounced Key. But clearly that is an issue since no one here even knows how to say it, so it doesn't bode well for your son, on top of the whole bad name thing.

2. I immediatly thought SCALLYWAG - and I'm pretty sure scallywag has a negative meaning...
this.
I think that Annabella has a rhyming "sing-song" tune. At first I wasn't crazy, but after saying it a few times I like it. Keep in mind that if her nickname isn't Anna, it will be Bella, and perhaps with the whole Twilight craze you won't want that. It sounds as if your going for non-traditional names, and "Bella" is going to be one of the most popular names.
I also dislike the boy's name. I thought immediately of Scallywag. If you feel strongly about Skelly use it as a middle name, I'm sure your family would still be honored!
I hope your getting the insight you wanted by posting here, even though the response is negative it gives you something to think about and consider
I haven't been on for a couple days, been sleeping a lot in the afternoons. I have an abnormal amount of weird names in my family. Since I have grown up hearing them they don't sound weird to me. My dads name is Troxell Skelly and so is his father, but my granddad went by Skelly. My grandfather's name on my mothers name was Glenn Ozia, so I have always liked different names. My daughters name is Candice Kaylou she is named after all the mothers middle names, C is my MN and Kay my mothers, and Lou his mothers. So we were trying to stick with MN, I am just trying to see what other people think when you see them. Thank you everyone for your honest opinions!
Re: Your opinion
Honestly?
Annabella = Antebellum
Brooklynn = Misspelling of Brooklyn, NY
Skelly = WTF? Misspelled Kelly? Skull? Skully? Smelly? Smelly Skelly? Bad bad bad bad regardless if it is a family name.
Quay = A land-form, not a name...and it rhymes with Gay...which there is nothing wrong with...just one of my first thoughts
The girl's name I can stand, nms, but it's ok.
The boy's...oh wow...poor guy!
The first thing I think of when I see those names is WTF?

Like the girl name!
Really, really dislike the boy name!
Your girl name is simply NMS. Love Anna though.
But...WTF is Skelly? It's terrible. Where did you come up with this one?
ETA: I just read that it's your dad's name. This is one name that's best not to be passed along.

The girl name is trendy, cutesy and a mouthful.

This about the girl's name. I won't even comment on the boy's name.
The girls name isn't completely horrendus, but NMS.
The boys. WTF? then I think obviously that is a joke.
Girl name - I think Annabella is okay. Pretty name but NMS. I hate Brooklynn. I think it is an ugly name and misspelled to boot.
Boy name - Hate it. I get that it is a family name, but Skelly? Really?
Annabella is fine. Brooklyn is definitely NMS, but at least it's not totally off-the-wall.

Boy name: that's a joke, right? Right?! If not, it's bad, really bad.
Girl..Annabella i really like a lot...Brooklynn is spelled wrong and not nice
Boy..Skelly is horrendous and Quay is as well.
Just like everyone else...
The girl's name is ok. Annabella is fine, and I could honestly care less about middle names since no one every hears them in the adult world.

Love Annabella, hate Brooklynn.

Girl name = eh. Trying to be trendy (Annabella) and yet uneeque (Brooklynn) at the same time.
Boy name = You're just a special kind of cruel!
