Hi ladies! I'm finally posting my birth story over here. After getting such great advice from you ladies when we found out we would be delivering early, I thought it would be nice to share
We had Ariana via c/s on July 27th, born at 10:09am. She was 6lbs 11oz, 18 1/2 inches. I was given two betamethasone (sp?) shots to ensure her lung maturity prior to her birth, and it seems like those shots were a huge advantage for her. She did have some jaundice in the hospital, but no bili light treatment was needed and while her levels increased in the days following our release, she has been doing wonderful!
Our c/s was an adventure (again! LOL). She was head-down at the beginning of the surgery, then flipped into a transverse breech presentation prior to being delivered. Our DS did the exact. same. thing. when he was born, and our OB for his delivery opted to use a second incision to get him out. This OB used a vaccuum to reposition her and get her out, which gave me some deep bruising but made my recovery SO much easier! She scored 8/9 on her APGAR, and while we had a scare with some grunting and retraction issues, she was stable and in our arms shortly after delivery. We were incredibly blessed, she is a sweet little baby and her big brother is absolutely smitten with her
I can't thank you ladies enough! I know we were blessed in having her almost at term, but the support you ladies have given eased our minds greatly and if not for that I believe the experience would have been much different.
