delivering #2...what did you do with #1

while you were in hospital delivering #2, what did you do with #1? 

I am having a 2nd planned C-section and am preparing to have #1 stay at my parents house for a few nights while i am in the hospital so my DH can stay a night or two with me and the new baby. 

i can't wait for my parents to bring #1 in to the hospital in his Big Brother shirt to meet his little brother.  Big Smile

    I also have a planned C-section and DD will go to my aunt and uncles house for the duration of my hospital stay.  I don't think I will have her come to the hospital though because I anticipate that it will be hard for her to leave with them while DH and I stay behind.

    We had a plan for my sister to come over, but she would not wake up....Hmm We had to take him with for part of it until another sister could get there. Then he stayed with my mom and dad for the duration. They did bring him to the hospital each day. It was hard for me for him to leave, but he did not care because he was with his grandparents, so he ruled the roost!

    When I had #2 my mom was in town and she stayed with DD.  When I had #3 we had friends watching DD and DS.  No idea what we'll do this time around.  I'm hoping my mom will be in town again.

    I went into labour in the middle of the night.  We called my mom to sit with DS#1.  I had the baby and DH was home before DS woke up for the day.  I came home the next day.  Very little disruption to the little guy's schedule.

    We had SIL stay with us for 2.5wks surrounding my EDD so she would be there to watch DD while we were away. Gavin came a week in to her stay so I had her for 10 full days after to help, too! It was fabulous :)

    My ILs will take DS my first night in the hospital.  After that, we're undecided.  They've offered to keep him the entire time I'm in the hospital but DH might go home at night to be with him.  We're fortunate that my ILs live really close and DS is used to sleep overs at their house.
