I love this name!

Anneliese is the correct spelling. Annelise is the somewhat Americanized spelling (similiar to Madeleine and Madeline).

No ill associations, but my mom is an aunt and her name is Elise, so to me it sounds like someone saying Aunt Elise. That's about as much as I can come up with. Oh, and please avoid any ANAL spellings.

The first time I heard it, I thought of Anal Ease. The way you are spelling it is a LOT better, but I still can't get that association out of my head.

I love it! I would never have thought of "anal ease"....it's a pretty name! Annabel is pretty too. : ) I'm not sure how I would spell it....Anelise is really pretty!

I don't think it used to, but someone posted it on a previous name, and now it's all a lot of us can see.

My name is Anna, and quite frankly, I find it kind of boring by itself. I use my middle name a lot to "spice" it up. I like Anneliese (no idea how to spell it) and most other name variations with Anne or Anna/Ana at the beginning.

i like the name anna!  it has an understated appeal to me

I am from England and here we spell it Annalise, I went to school with an Annalise and she was lovely....Annalisa is also nice?

I love this name!  I want it to be our FD's mn but DH vetoed it.  I wanted to spell it Annaleise though, because I felt like Annelies or Annaleise looked like Anne/Anna lies.
