3rd Trimester

Sorry, TMI but...

I have been having diarrhea for the past three days. It hasn't been painful, no cramps, I feel a tightening in my uterus but not more than usual, and I have no desire to eat anything.. at all. I forced myself to eat some wheat toast today and I have been staying hydrated... Just wondering if any of you ladies have been going through something similar? I was in the hospital over the weekend and I told them that i hadn't been eating and they didn't say much about it.. (probably because they think my child weighs 8 pounds already) any input?

  • Have you called your OB? You might have a bug and it just needs some time to pass. In the mean time you really do need to keep fluids in you and eat something.

  • Thats the thing, I was in L&D over the weekend and they tested my blood and urine for infections and viruses and it all came back clean...

  • I had a bout of this a while ago and there wasnt much my OB wanted to do about it. She just said if it continued to where I was getting dizzy or not keeping liquids in then she would bring me in for fluids... she said she wasnt concerned and our bodies react to certain foods right now and that was it.

I hate when they cant give you answers. Well hopefully this will all pass by the weekend. If not I would put another call it, having that for a week just cant be good.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • Sucks but I've had it for a couple weeks now.  My doctor just tells me to take immodium if needed and drink LOTS of fluids.  Awe...the joys of pregnancy!
  • I had this problem in my second trimester and I just happened to be around my sister-n-law who is a dr. (pediatrician) and she said that it is one of the ways that your body gets ready to go into labor.
