MH's conversation on IVF...
So I got home after him yesterday and he's sitting in our familly room. This is how it went.
DH: Did you hear about the fireman that died yesterday?
Me: Yes, the one that fell off the fire escape?
DH: Yes, he was my friend. We use to hang out when I lived in the city. The funeral is on Friday at 10:30 am. I guess I have to come home and then go to the funeral.
Me: Why would you come home?
DH: I have to go to the RE for my bloodwork and culture, that's at 9 right?
Me: Yes it's at 9. I'm so sorry about your friend.
Gotta love men such simple creatures... Never even talked about the IVF or the fees.
I feel horrible for that firemans fiancee. She just kept talking about what a great guy he was...(on the news) T&P's to his family.

I am so sorry about your DH's friend. Prayers go out to him and his family.
I'm glad your DH is coming around about IVF. Maybe after his initial reaction, he was able to think things through a little more. I hope his appointment goes smoothly on Friday. Best of luck to both of you!

Me= 37 and DH = 41
Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132. Lil is here!
TTC#2: Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.
IVF #4: BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #5: MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #6: (New RE): Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN
FET#1: BFN
You'd think he would had something to say, but I guess if it's all decided there's no need to.
I'm sorry about his friend. T&P for his loved ones.

Such a tragedy. My aunt is a paramedic and used to be stationed at that fire house. It hits even closer to home when you have family in the fire department.

Yes MH is a fireman. I hate that it was a stuppid move that killed him. His pack and everything he was carrying weighed over 70lbs and when he went on the fire escape he lost his balance. It was a small kitchen fire... WTF!? It's scary. I think this is why MH decided to just go a head with IVF. Life is short. The guy was in his late 30's...

I am sorry about Chino's freind and feel terrible for his fiance.
How terrible. My thoughts go out to his family.
But definitely crazy how the tides turn with men sometimes! Glad he's on board.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

MH is 37 ... things like this make him crazy for the same reasons! I'm glad YH is fully on board with IVF now though

MH just turned 40 and all this scares the living shiit out of me! MH just tells me to make sure I get an attorney and ask for an investigation. Things go on at his station that are unsafe!
MH says the same thing. They are so short on manpower in their department that they are running 2 man engine companies. It's SOOO unsafe and it scares me too!! And since they test for promotions (rather than seniority promotions), there are officers that have been there for just 5 years and don't know half of what MH knows with his almost 18 years on the job.
