Bad Baby Breath?

I make sure that we brush Colin's teeth twice a day. I have been using toddler toothpaste. The berry burst stuff with cars characters on it. I don't just let him eat the toothpaste either. I brush his teeth first then he takes his turn. MAN OH MAN does his breath stink. I slipped him some Colgate the other day b/c I was hoping it help. He didn't mind the mint taste but it just doesn't seem like it's doing any good. What else can I do so that his breath doesn't knock me or someone else out?

Is it just recent or all the time? If just recent, it might mean that he has a sinsus infection. My mom (she has a better sense of smell than I do) says that when small kid get really bad breath that it is indication of a sinsus issue - all the drainage causes the smell. If not, then it is probably something in his diet. I know that certain foods - onions and garlic - cause both my father and I to have horrible breath.
