Pregnant after IF

Anyone else still get anxious before dr's appts?

My dr's appt is tomorrow and I am excited to (hopefully) find out what team we are on...but the anxiousness is killing me!  I am so paranoid that something has happened or will be wrong, I get all freaked out before every appointment.  The excitement and anxiousness have kept me up the past two nights!

Ugghh...hoping I can sleep tonight and tomorrow comes quickly:)

Re: Anyone else still get anxious before dr's appts?

  • Every time I go to the Dr.  They have to take my BP twice since I am so nervous at first.

  • Always! And I count down the days leading up to it. Thankfully I have a scan coming up in 8 days...

  • It's not the doctor's appointments, but the ultrasounds! Everytime they do one, I just sit there holding my breath until they find the HB.
  • Yes. I always get nervous no matter what. I feel like I live for the few short minutes spent getting a sono.

  • I always get anxious before every appointment too. I'm always so afraid that I am going to go in for an u/s (since I have them monthly) and something will be horribly wrong. I don't think the worrying every stops. Good luck tomorrow.

  • Yep, I actually just posted about this in response to the post two (?) up from this one.  ;)

I was freaked before appointments allllll the way to the end with DS#1.

  • GL tomorrow! I am more anxious between appointments, especially now that the appts are 4 weeks apart. It just doesn't feel right to go that long without seeing them or being checked!

Exactly!  Those ultrasound appointments are the worst for me!  I think for women who have struggled the way we have to get pregnant, it's totally normal to feel anxious/nervous.  Good luck today!

TTC #1 w/ endo since Sept 2005. After many losses, a lap, tons of meds and tons of testing and, one failed IVF cycle, we were blown away with a surprise, sticky BFP...it's a girl!!! Lilypie Second Birthday tickers
  • It's been three weeks since my last doctor appointment and u/s and I'm incredibly anxious too :(
  • I still do. Just like you, I can hardly sleep the night before. I'm just so used to things going wrong that it's hard to believe that things might actually be going right this time.

Best of luck at your appointment!

This.  Once at the beginning of the appt and then again at the end.  The difference once my OB gives his "everything looks great" pep talk is noticeable.

  • Yup, I have the blood pressure issue too.  As soon as I see that HB I relax a bit and even more so once I get the count and it's strong.  I have one tomorrow and my anxiety level has been creeping up for the past few days.
  • I don't sleep well the night before and I hold my breath until I hear that heartbeat of have my u/s.

Its awful that i can never truly trust and enjoy this.

  • Yup.  My next appointment is a week from today, and all day yesterday I analyzed everything my body did, trying to decide if anything was worth a call to the doc so that they could maybe see me today instead, LOL.  I'm sure the next week will be terrible as I wait for the appointment.  At least I go back to work next week, so my mind will hopefully be on other things besides the upcoming visit.
