I found a midwife group nearby that will deliver twins! Yay! I'm going to see them in conjunction with the perinatologist that everybody here raves about, so it will be the best of both worlds. Someone to help me in labor the way that I want and someone to keep a good eye on the babies and my cervix. I'm so relieved!
Re: best of both worlds: peri and midwife
Not to be a Debbie Downer but, have you cleared this with the Peri?
I only ask b/c I know my Peri has to OK her patients OBs if she is doing a co-care situation. The reason is b/c she doesn't want to take on more liability if she isn't comfortable with the other provider. She just doesn?t want to run the risk of being sued if the co-care provider (in your case a MW) doesn?t follow the guidelines she feels are necessary for a successful pregnancy.
I highly doubt my Peri would be comfortable with any of her patients seeing a midwife instead of an OB.
Just check on this before you get too excited.
