This is all DD wants. I think it started even before we brought DS home. She wants to be held all the time, and not on my lap, she wants me to walk around with her. Anyone else going through this phase???
DS is the same way. ?I have tried to pick him up when baby is sleeping so he doesn't throw a tantrum when I can't pick him up. ?I think he sees us carrying the baby everywhere so he just wants that too. ?
If she is crying and saying it I tell her I will hold her when she decides to stop crying...I won't pick her up when she is throwing a fit for it... but I will at times put down the baby to pick her up and give her a turn being held. It seems only fair I also try to convince her to be held sitting down and will sit on the ground and put one on each leg and cuddle them both. I tell her one leg of mine is for her and the other one is her sisters. We try to get lots of cuddling in since she is always asking to 'hold mommy'
Daughter born July 2008; Daughter born March 2010
Son born August 2011
Yes!! Only my DS can't talk yet and DD isn't here yet! It's so rough- he just whines and cries until I give in or I can distract him. If I sit down, he freaks. I don't always give in and it's hard but I just can't carry him or I have to get something done.
We have his 18 mos well check up this week, so I'm going to ask his pedi about it (his pedi gives me great advice).
