7 month PIP & a Q

I can't believe my girls are already 7 months!  They are getting so fun right now and starting to interact, it's a fantastic age.

Did any MoMs here have family pics done when your LOs were 6-9 months old? I am getting outdoor family pics taken this week and wanted to see if any of you had any ideas to share. Thanks!

  • We just had ours done and there are a couple of things I wish we had done differently. Make sure you schedule it for a time that will be their happiest time. I We did ours a little too close to nap time and they were both kind of cranky. If the photographer works alone, bring someone along to make your girls smile. Our photographer tried, but it was hard to do that and shoot pics at once. (He said normally his wife comes and helps with that sort of stuff but that day she had to stay home with a sick kid) Anyway we have lots of pics of the boys smiling but when we tried to do the whole family we didn't really get any pictures where they were both smiling.

  • No real advice for two babies, but when we did our pics as a family at 3mths, it was hard for the photographer to make the baby smile and do pics at the same time. I agree with the pp, just make sure it's not too close to nap time or even immediately after...DS was in a zone once when we did it right after he woke up. But yes, your girls are beautiful and look so happy! :)
  • We just went and did professional pics of the boys and all four of us today. I definitely agree with the previous poster about making sure to schedule it when they are happiest. We tried our best to make this happen, and while they were happy and good at the beginning, by the end, they were starting to melt down, wanted their pacis, and refused to look at the camera. Also, if you are going to do outdoor pics, either go somewhere where there is a lot of shade, or go in the early evening when the light is good. We were outside in the middle of the afternoon and it was really sunny, so I'm sure we're squinting for most of the pictures. I suggest bringing a toy that squeaks or one that will really get their attention. And if the photographer doesn't have an assistant, its a good idea to bring someone to get the kids attention. That's hard to do when you are holding the babies. :)

Good luck! Oh, and your girls are ADORABLE!!!
