Lansinoh Sucks!

Okay so I have already had my pump serviced once within this year and the stupid thing has no suction AGAIN!  I have had it!  Pumping is a daily activity and I'm so sick of this wasted pump.

Please recommend your pump and let me know why you like it.  Baby #2 will definately had a happier pumping Mommy!

thanks!

Re: Lansinoh Sucks!

  • I have a Medela Pump in Style Backpack and I haven't had any issued with it and for a while I was pumping 4-5 times a day! But I just found out about a new kind of pump that looks like it would be soooo much more comfortable, its called Simplisse, they carry it at BRU. For baby #2 if my Medela quits I think I'll buy one of those.

  • Did you change out the little white caps? I have the lansinoh double electric, have been pumping 4x a day for 6 months and have had no problems, but I have had to change the white things twice so far or I lose suction. They are only a couple dollars on the lansinoh website.

If you have done that than I'm sorry that you got a lemon!

  • I had the Lansinoh and lost suction also - sucks.  Sorry!

I now have the Medela Freestyle and LOVE IT.  I commute to work each day so have a small, lightweight portable pump is crucial for me.  I am told that the PISA has better suction than the Freesyle but I have had zero issues with my freestyle.  I have no problem getting all the milk out.

ETA: I am currently EPing with it.

  • Here's how I get the suction to work on my lansinoh pump: turn up the suction all the way, then once the suction starts I turn it down to where I want.

That said, I agree that the pump sucks.  I bought a second one (first one bought used, so the warranty didn't cover anything) had suction problems right out of the box, but after using all the tricks I knew for the old pump, it magically started working again and hasn't had issues since.  But I figure it'll have problems eventually, and I have the other pump if/when I need to send the new one in.

Hope you have better luck with a different pump!

  • Another Medela PIS user - pumped several times a day for a year with my son and for 6 months now with my daughter, same pump, no issues.
