I'm doing clomid CD3-7, and my doctor has me scheduled to come in and do an ultrasound on CD14 (and another one a week later).
Now I know that just because I'm taking Clomid it doesn't mean I'd end up with higher order multiples or anything, but a couple of ladies said that they're supposed to check and see how many follicles have grown, and if there are more than 4 or something that are big enough, then they cancel the cycle.
Okay, here's my (probably really stupid) question... If my doctor isn't doing the u/s until cd14, isn't it possible that I may O before then, in which case if I somehow fell in the 0.5%-1% chance of having higher order multiples, it would be too late to cancel the cycle? Or by "cancel" the cycle, do they mean that they induce AF?
Sorry ladies, I feel dumb asking this, but it's bothering me. Is my doctor doing what he's supposed to do? Is it normal for them to do the u/s on CD14? It's probably bad that I'm second guessing my doctor, but this drug makes me so paranoid.
**ETA: Arghh.. sorry AGAIN. I just read down some more posts and found that most people are doing u/s around CD10-12, now I'm concerned.
Re: Clomid noob question
Okay, that's what I thought. I wonder wtf he's waiting so late to do the u/s then. I know it's a low dosage, but i don't know (nor does he know) how my body is going to react, I think I'll phone him tomorrow and ask him if he can do the u/s sooner.
I was worried about this my first clomid cycle because I was not scheduled to come in until CD14 and started getting EWCM very early. I called and moved my u/s up because I got so nervous. I ended up not responding until very late (sometime after CD20.)
If you are feeling nervous about it you should call and see if they can get you in earlier OR you and DH can just not have sex until after your u/s where you can see how many follicles you have, if you responded etc. , this could end up throwing off timing but you would def. be safe.
Do OPKs work for you? They don't for me, so that is why I was extra worried.

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
I've never used OPK's because I never have a clue when/if I'm going to O, and I didn't want to waste the money. I think I'm just going to give the doc a call and ask if he can do the u/s earlier, hopefully it won't be a problem, and we won't have to call the cycle off.
