When did you stop purees with your lo? DS is quite content with them still, I'm trying to get him to do more finger food but he's not so sure...he does do snacky stuff like puffs and cheerios, but we keep trying other "real" food too. He has some new teeth coming in so I'm hoping after those get in he'll be more into trying non-purees again. With real foods he just tends to put way too much into his mouth and then not know what to do...
Re: Stopping purees?
We started between 9 & 10 months.
I only put a few pieces of the food on his tray, let him eat it and then add more....
Put I guess every kid is different...
We still do some. Mostly fruit, which we mix in with other things (yogurt, oatmeal). Or sometimes when he isn't really into something we've made for him, we'll add an old veggie puree to make the texture different and he'll like it better. I think the key is when they get that pincer grasp and can start feeding themselves, so you can give them more "solid" solids.

I stopped about a month ago. He got really annoyed when I would try and feed him. He does still get oatmeal, yogurt, etc. but he needs to have something he can pick up with his fingers.
He let us know he was done with purees!
We phased them out when he started refusing them in favor of finger foods, probably around 10 months. At his 9 mo check up the doc had said that there was no reason he needed them if he was eating the other stuff okay on his own.
He still eats applesauce and soy yogurt for breakfast pretty often, but he loves those so much that he doesn't care if we have to feed him.
Good to hear. I was thinking of posting about our spoon battles. DS is refusing anything on a spoon (even if he's holding it) so we've moved to all finger foods. Dicing is my life.
