Thanks for those who gave advice regarding the doppler. I looked into renting a bit and was about to do it, but then I thought to check out ebay to see if there were any listings for any good quality, gently used dopplers. I was in luck! I won a listing for a Hi-Bebe BT-200 Fetal Doppler for $60 bucks

Half the cost of a new model. I figure I can lend it out to someone later on or even re-list it on Ebay. She was even kind enough to send me some leftover gel. DH & I found the heartbeat right away at 158 BPM. It's awesome. Yippee!

Nice! I have the Hi-Bebe too and I've been able to pick up a HB since 8.5 weeks. I'm convinced it's the best model!
