I'm having a hard time coming up with names for boys, so far my husband likes Calvin and Jonah, I really like Elliot, but he thinks it's "too many syllables" since our last name has three also. I've never heard this rule before, but he's hard to argue with. Which of the three names do you like best?

Jonah is my favorite!

I don't think Elliot is too long with a 3 syllable last name though.

I really love Jonah, followed by Elliot, and with Calvin coming in a distant third.

I actually know a guy named Calvin Elliott, he goes by Elliott since he's a junior and his dad goes by Calvin. I think it's a great name, both Calvin and Elliott were on my list of top names. Not so much a fan of Jonah though.

DS is Elliott, so I obviously like that name, but I can see where it might be too sing-songy with your last name like pp said.  Calvin is another name I really like, but doesn't go with our last name.  Jonah is a name I really don't like and I don't know why.

I like Elliot the best.  To me, Calvin sounds like an old man name.  I think 3 syllables in both names would sound good!  It would give it a flow.  Just makin up a 3 syllable last name "Elliot Davidson" just rolls of the tongue.
