Are you talking about the coconut things (macaroons), or the yummy cookies (macarons)?  There's a detailed recipe/instructions for macarons here - apparently a good scale is essential:

Yes, the cookies. I am a dork and didn't realize I spelt it wrong. I do have a scale. I may have to attempt these soon. Thanks.

I really really want to make them, and was thinking of trying them this weekend.  But I know they are kind of finicky and i worry that the humidity will mess them up.  Tartelette has tons of variations and tips too
