TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

For those thinking of IVF w/PGD (ticker in post....)

Hi lovelies!  I've read a few posts on here where some ladies have indicated they are interested in pursuing IVF w/ PGD.   DH and I are planning to do IVF w/PGD for any pregnancies going forward and in our research we have discovered that a lot of insurance companies don't cover the additional cost of PGD testing.

I came across a posting on a CF forum I visit where the mother was able to have not only the IVF, but the PGD testing totally covered by her insurance company.  She outlines what she did and has some suggestions in this post:  https://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=249050&highlight=pgd

Granted, her advice deals with a potential CF diagnosis, but I thought it would apply to anyone who has genetic issues/concerns regarding a healthy pregnancy.  Figured I would pass it along in case it helped anyone.

  • Hi Jamie, thank you for passing this on to us! I am putting it in my PGD file.

The woman who replied with all the advice said she had it almost 100% covered, and they didn't have IVF coverage to begin with.

  • Thanks for posting!  IVF with PGD is one of the things we may be looking at soon.
