Trouble TTC

PSA for PCOS girls

So I haven't posted for awhile, but I do still occassionally lurk while we're waiting to see the RE at the end of August.

In the meantime, DH started taking Fertilaid to see if it will help with his next SA.  I decided to try Insulite Labs PCOS system.  It's basically a suppliment system and diet/exercise support that is supposed to help reverse insulin resistance, thus balancing your hormones etc.

I have been on it for about 5 weeks, and was shocked to see that I lost 5 pounds without really exercising much (I'm not really overweight but I have gained a good 12 pounds since stopping BCP) and actually ovulated ON MY OWN on CD20.  I couldn't believe it.  It could definitely be a coincidence, but I just thought it was worth telling other ladies with PCOS about, as I was extremely skepticle about it.  We'll see what happens this cycle to see if it really could be helping :)

For anyone interested, here's the site:  https://pcos.insulitelabs.com/

Re: PSA for PCOS girls

  • That's interesting. We are in the middle of treatments now, but I always wondered about this stuff. Hope it works for you!
    TTC#1 with PCOS since 3/2009 2 surgeries to remove dermoid 7 medicaid cycles=BFN 3 IUI's=BFN IVM= BFP Twins- missed m/c @ 9weeks
  • Is that the program where you take, like, 18 pills a day? I've heard about it, but didn't really think it worked. Had you tried metformin or anything else for the IR before?

  • Haven't tried Metformin or Actos or anything, but I will discuss that with my RE when I see her.  Yes, it is a lot of pills a day, I think 16.  That doesn't bother me at all though as I've never had a problem taking pills and they don't bother my stomach or anything.

It's definitely not going to make me pregnant, I know that.  But it has made me  have more energy and just feel better!

  • Good to know. My endo has me on metformin and actos to try to regulate my cycles and hopefully induce ovulation. If that doesn't work, I'll look into this before going to Clomid!
