Cloth Diapering

Why the hate for Pampers?

I use Pampers and I love them!  LOL!

I tried all other brands and they all leaked.  And where is the ad for Pampers, I haven't seen it yet.

Re: Why the hate for Pampers?

  • Severe chemical burns.

    Very pricey.

    Leaks a lot.

Not as good as a Wal-Mart bag.

I don't want to CD so I thought I'd try the Huggies Naturals, since they're a tad bit more eco-friendly (and I use that term very lightly) than the other disposables and they leaked all over the place.  I bought a small package of all disposables and honestly only Pampers is working for us.  How can I watch out for chemical burns??

  • I loved Pampers before the DryMax!
  • The 3 B's.

    Bleeding Baby Bottoms!

I loved them too,  before they changed to that drymax crap.

    Lilypie Third Birthday tickers
  • Because my child had the nastiest "diaper rash" of his life after spending one hour in a clean DryMax diaper.

Because Pampers is completely dismissing complaints and concerns from parents regarding similar DryMax horror stories. Their rebuttal? A video from a doctor explaining how to prevent diaper rash.

And because after many phone calls to Pampers trying to get a refund, it took a sarcastic post to AmyfromPampers on 12-24 to get my check that had been promised nearly two months before.

The new Pampers Dry Max just does it...can't really explain how to watch out for it.  A lot of Bumpies have complained about it.

Have you tried the Earth's Best diapers?  We used them when traveling and they performed great. I still like cloth better and use cloth 95% of the time - but for the times I do use sposies the EB are great.

  • I dislike disposable diapers in general 1) because I don't think they work as well as cloth diapers and 2) because I don't think it's healthy for a baby to be swaddled in chemicals for 2+ years of his/her life.

I dislike Pampers specifically because of their response to the DryMax snafu.  They could have admitted that perhaps there was a problem with their product and worked in good faith to fix it.  Instead, they brushed off the very real concerns of people whose babies had suffered actual burns to their skin from Pampers, claiming that the issue was inflated by cloth diaper "activists."  The smear campaign against CDs was a nice touch, too.

I have had to use disposables in the past occasionally, and expect I will do so in the future.  You can bet that none of them will be Pampers!
