Why is ttcal so expensive?

I just paid my bill for all the lab work I had done last month.  It was basically cd3 blood work, 2 hr glucose test and genetics testing.  $3,300 was the original bill.  After insurance I paid $390.  Ouch.

    Ugh, I am sorry.

    This process has completely emptied our savings, the inheritence DH got from his grandfather, and whatever was left over after that. It really, really sucks.

    tell me about it. I just started the research on adoption costs and IVF costs so we can do some break downs (and believe me I'm about to have a frickin break down over this) - and it is unreal. We've been so lucky to have all of our testing and IUIs covered so far - but this may not last, and certainly won't cover IVF or adoption.

    m/c#1 07/16/08 (11 weeks), m/c#2 10/10/08 (8 weeks). and then nothing since except every test possible (no answers). IUI#1 and #2: BFNs Super lucky to be buddies with Peetie. Our out of nowhere, surprise DD born 5/29/2011

    I'm sorry. It really is so unfair and unjust that having a baby is 100% free for some people.
