So, we had our OB appointment this morning and this momma just found out why she's been feeling so crappy for the past few days. I mentioned to my OB that I was concerned I was developing a UTI, because I've been having a lot of pelvic pressure and just general malaise - not feeling well at all. She got a sterile urine and is sending it, but decided to do a pelvic just in case.
Um. She thinks I have a YI AND BV. How did i NOT know that? She sent off cultures, so we should know for sure in a few days. I have NEVER had BV before and I haven't had a YI in years. She blames the heat and the summer. She said she's seeing TONS of them right now. Ugh.
Anyway - as long as it doesn't hurt the baby. I hate taking medication, but I'll do about anything to NOT let it get worse.
Figures - i'm finally off of pelvic rest as of today, and there's no way i'm letting him touch me right now.
So - baby looks great (which we already knew - she was just reviewing our failed anatomy). And she's sending me to the chiropractor for my sciatica (which I didn't want to do without her clearance). She said as soon as my chiro puts me out of work (with my long history of back problems), she'll sign the note. So, i'm meeting wth my HR rep in the morning to get the ins and outs of my leave and then I'll decide when I want to go out. (My chiro will put me out whenever I want him too - i've known him for years.)
I think that's about it.
repeat anatomy and fetal echo on tuesday.
ETA: how could I forget. I'm HORRIFIED. I gained FIVE pounds this month. I was doing SO well. I haven't changed my eating habits and i even started exercising more. So now i'm at 12 pounds in 22 weeks. I'm hoping some of it is fluid. I HAVE been swelling.
Re: 22 week OB update
Gen,
Sorry, what is BV? And sorry about your YI. I feel your pain. At least you didn't even notice it yet, maybe its super early!
Diagnosed PCOS & MFI-Success with IUI
i noticed SOMETHING... just thought it was a UTI with the pelvic pressure, that's all.
BV = bacterial vaginitis. Icky.

honey, 12 pounds in 22 weeks is not bad at ALL. i know weight gain sucks, but try to keep it in perspective . . . some of us (ahem, me) are gaining twice that fast, and the bottom line that i try to keep in mind is that it's just temporary, and i can work on getting rid of it when the baby comes.
glad your LO is doing well! hope the YI and BV clear up soon.
I agree with Perry, 12 pounds right now is fine! I wouldn't worry about that at all. Also, hopefully your medication will do the trick and clear up your infections.
I'm more upset about gaining 5 in ONE MONTH than I am about the total over all. It's upsetting because it is pretty drastic for me. But the key word is FOR ME. I know every one gains differently, and one persons weight gain isn't anothers. I'm already almost 50 pounds overweight, so I have a goal of not gaining more than 20 pounds, and now that's not looking very likely to me. So, we have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what to do differently.
I know weight posts on the tri boards are pretty taboo - but i kind of thought this was a safe place to mention my concerns.
