I said I didn't care if DH was there, but now that he is coming I'm glad.
He quietly put his name on the board for the day off since we were having a fight which included me hating how much he isn't around and feeling like I'm on my own for a lot of stuff. By the time we got a chance to talk and for me to say seriously, save your day for the follow up when we discuss results and options, he was told "since you snuck in to write your name down you have to work thursday night". So now he has the day, isn't using a vacation day, and isn't actually losing any pay. Win-win!
Best part is the guy who told him that probably thought he was really sticking it to DH, but we think it worked out great.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

No it's ok, I assume that to be the policy everywhere since it's an x-ray. Just having him there to do the driving so I can take a good pain pill is what I was looking for.
