Trouble TTC

Do you sell stuff on eBay?

I don't often sell stuff but MH ordered some computer part that ended up being the wrong thing and he couldn't return it.  It cost probaby $150 so I decided to sell it on eBay.

Every time I post something to sell, I get completely addicted and start scouring my house looking for other things to sell.  It's like the opposite of hoarding.  It's addictive though!  I'm constantly checking to see what the bid is at!  I think this is another aspect of my gambling addiction :)

  • I have in the past....I sold my grandfather's Road&track magazines and a few Absolut ads that I had duplicates of (I used to collect them).  I never bothered with anything that didn't have a reasonably high demand though.

  • I never have but I always say I want to. Do you have to pay for sellers account?

I usually try to stay from ebay because I buy stupid things just because they're so cheap.

You don't have to pay just to have a selling account.  There are listing fees and selling fees.  Most listings are free but if you want to make them fancier, there are some small fees (ie $.50 per picture past the first one - I think).  And then they charge a percentage of the final selling price.  It ends up not being much though.  And if you use paypal for payment, they also take a small percentage.  Again, not much.

This is us. Between the two of us we now have 5 iPods and one iPhone. I don't go to ebay often, but I have an addiction problem with Amazon.

  • I had a store. I sold luxury items. Like Burberry, coach, prada; scarves, coats, handbags, shoes and many other things. I made a huge profit, but got slammed during tax season. I still had a *** ton of things I need to sell.

Edit: I don't sell fake shiit.

This can add up for some listings I had to pay close to $7 and if the listing didn't sell I still had tp pay a majority of the fee. I had a lot of time on my hands when I was unemployed and this is what I did! It's very time consuming and yes very addicting.

  • I used to but not anymore. I also got very addicted so I had to stop. I would go to my local Marshalls & TJ Maxx and buy the name brand clothing from last season for dirt cheap and turn around and sell it on there. The most I made was on a pair of Baby Phat pajamas/loungewear ( cami & capri set). I bout it for $19.99 but sold it for $80 ! I started to take more risks with buying stuff to re-sell butthen it got to a point where I had a ton of stuff that wasn't selling.

  • My husband spent all summer selling everything in our house that wasn't nailed down.  Now he's got hundreds of dollars sitting in his PayPal account and hasn't spent it on anything.  Silly man.

  • eBay and craigslist can be like crack to me.  DH and I went on a kick a few months ago and sold a ton of stuff.  It helped pay for our new living room and dining room furniture.

You have to request it to be sent (to your bank account). Otherwise, it will just sit there.
