When did you/will you first leave your LO overnight?
Re: PG-Mom-TTC check in
Wow! I can't believe how far down my name is on the "mom" list. We've had quite the baby boom lately!
Any news or updates?
Kellen is growing up right before my eyes! He is 3 months already! He is becoming much more interactive, cooing and starting to reach for objects. He already loves Sophie, although he hasn't quite figured out how to shove her in his mouth yet. He'll gnaw on her if I help him!
We are leaving for FL on Saturday. I am excited, but not looking forward to wearing a bathing suit 24/7! LOL! I am hoping Kellen will do ok on the flight. Cross your fingers for me!
When did you/will you first leave your LO overnight? My cousin is getting married over Labor Day weekend, which happens to be the weekend of my 30th birthday. My mom is going to watch Kellen while we are at the wedding and we're tossing around the idea of letting him stay all night and us staying downtown after the wedding. Kellen will be about 4 1/2 months by then.Wow! I can't believe how far down my name is on the "mom" list. We've had quite the baby boom lately!

I finally had a baby! It was so weird moving myself to the Moms list. I finally know what people mean when they say that everything changes and your life will never be the same. It's so weird, but in a good way of course. I can't possibly cram everything into this update and I plan to get my birth story done at some point this week.
Today is my first day home alone with Caroline. Brian had to go back to work today because this is his busy time at work. We were obviously planning on meeting her sooner and he would have been able to take off longer, but it's really not that big of a deal to me. So far, things are going well. I feel great and am a little nervous that I'm doing too much too soon, but I kind of feel lazy otherwise. Slowly but surely, I'll get some more posts up here to fill you girls in on more specifics.
When did you/will you first leave your LO overnight?
We decided to just book a room at a nice hotel in center city Philly to give us a night away for our anniversary on 8/14. We're getting massages at a spa, dinner at a nice restaurant and seeing Kevin Nealon at a comedy club (it was the only show I could find going on that night.) This way, we're not far but it will give us a full night of sleep (and we can both drink
I know she'll be less than a month old, but I feel fine about leaving her with my mom. Worst comes to worse, she can call us and we can be home within 30 minutes. We'll leave around 2 on the 14th and be back no later noon on the 15th.
We put the crib together this weekend and are picking up the dresser for the nursery next weekend, so things are coming together there. We are also working on all the stuff our dog trainer taught us to try to prepare our pup for the LO's arrival. Other than that, not much of anything is new.
I have no idea when the first time we will leave the LO will be. Since our dog has never been kennelled and we don't have much family that is in a rush to dog-sit, we rarely go anywhere overnight. Our first trip WITH the LO will be in February, when he is about 3.5 months old. Heading to Sanibel Island, FL with my parents and siblings for a little family reunion.

I went to the Dr yesterday and I'm now dialated to 1 1/2 cm so I am making some progress finally. I have been cramping and having some contractions since I left there yesterday, so hopefully it won't be too much longer since I'm 39 weeks today. He has me coming back in on Thursday first thing in the morning (not sure why he wants to see me twice this week, but I'm not complaining).
Overall I'm not feeling too bad but I've been having a terrible time sleeping! I've been up half the night every night and then end up taking terribly long naps during the day. Its a good thing my dad is here right now to help out with Rowen. My biggest compliant right now is my swelling! I am swollen so bad that the Dr thinks all my weight gain this past week is just water weight. And I'm so sick of the heartburn I'm getting even taking Zantac twice a day. OK, no more complaining!
When did you/will you first leave your LO overnight?
The first time I left Rowen overnight he was 9 months old and it was pure torture for me! I left him before so I could go out but I was living with my parents so I would still come home and be able to see him. At 9 months I left him with my IL's and flew down to TN for a wedding. After that it got much easier. I think the first time is the hardest.
Ian is 3 months tomorrow and time is flying. He loves to giggle and smile. He's a charmer! Drew comes home for R&R on Thursday so it will be fun to see him with the baby...he's been gone 30 days and I'm sure he'll notice a change in Ian.
I have no idea when I'll leave him overnight. He is refusing all formulas and I don't have time to pump much so I'm not away from him much at all.
The Kikimonster is adorable. She still isn't rolling over which is causing stress in my life. Not the doc's life. Just mine. So we're practicing that and sitting up unsupported. I am excited for her to sit up. Her appetite has really gone through the roof lately. She's eating all the time. It seems like every two hours or less and she's hungry again. Maybe a growth spurt, or maybe the milk just isn't enough to satisify her for too long anymore (although, I don't even really know if that can happen). She's showing some serious interest in food. She reaches for whatever your eating and if she can get close enough, she will steal whatever is in your hands. It is hilarious. Yesterday she stole Timm's tortilla chip he was eating. Cracks me up.
My first night away, I left her with Timm, she was just over 4 months olf. The only thing I was worried about was that Timm worked 65 hours that week and was super tired. I was afraid that he wouldn't wake up when she cried. But he did. I left her for two nights to go to the bestie's bachette party.
Then I left her last weekend, 4.5 months old, with my grandparents so Timm and I could be apart of the bestie's wedding. We were both in the wedding and it was required to go out in the limo after the wedding. So my grandparents took her for the night. Their room was right next to ours so I went over there at 7am to get her. So she still hasn't stayed far away from me with someone other than Timm.
I am thinking a datenight is in our immediate future though. His birthday is the 10th and I am thinking of taking him to the coast for a night this weekend. If we do that, K will stay with my mom.
The BAD: Yesterday a giant jungle cockroach crawled from my bath towel (wraped on my head) onto my face and when I screamed and wacked it off, it went down my body towel. OMG!!!!! I have never screamed so much. Lesson: shake out your bath towel beofre using.
The AWESOME: I fly home tommorrow!!!! As sad as I am to leave DH, I know we will see eachother every three weeks. It's a bummer, but tis besot for us right now. I need to see a real Dr. Really the cockroach was the last straw. I gotta get off this rock.

We still haven't left Alexa over night. Even if we wanted to (which we don't have anything going on anyways) we wouldn't have anyone to watch her. My family is 5 hours away and we don't have any sort of support system here. I think if there were something important to do at this point I would be fine going but no way would I have been able to those first few months.

I think the Starbucks yesterday got the bean moving. I felt lots of strange bubbling going on after I had a large cup in the afternoon. I am going to check in with the OB about a fitness program - just feel like I could be doing more especially after a 3 mile hike in Canada. I'm hoping to start the yoga classes we signed up for this weekend (if I can get myself out of bed).
Oh, I forgot to tell you guys that I was asked to do the needle test while in Canada by both sides of the family. It swung back and fourth both times so I'm convinced it is a boy.
MIL is still on team pink.
When did you/will you first leave your LO overnight?
I have no idea since it will be around the holidays when the bean gets here. I'm thinking maybe for DH's b-day in Feb if we can or in May for our anny. MIL is already requesting that we get a nice breast pump so she can take the bean on the weekends. Don't see that happening too fast in the beginning.
Good luck to all TTC! ::lots of baby dust headed your way::
News: I can't keep up with Miss Ava's diapers. She is literally going to the bathroom every 1/2 hour and it is not a few drops. The rash is getting better, but is not completely healed. She goes back to the doctor on Thursday for another weight check. Surprisingly, she has been rolling from her tummy to her back already. I thought the first time it was a flook(sp), but she has done it multiple times.
Overnights: There are not any planned in the immediate future.
EEK! This gave me the chills! I'm totally freaked out now. I HATE bugs of any kind esp. cockroaches!! I probably would have ended up falling on my a$$ if that happened to me.
I'm a week away from second trimester and I. can't. wait. I just want to get out of first trimester so I feel more at ease. (I know things can happen at any time, but, you all know what I mean.)
My ribs seem to be about 99% healed and I'm so happy about that. It was a miserable few days, but, if that's the worst of it, I can deal. I'm starting to get back aches on a more consistent basis, so, I think I'm going to have to start utilizing a body pillow or something.
As for leaving baby....I have a hard time leaving our dog Bailey. Unless it's something really important where taking a baby wouldn't make sense, I don't think I'll be leaving him/her for quite a while. We'll see though.
Natalee, my due date has changed to Feb. 11th. Can you change that for me please?

News/Updates
Sam is growing up so fast! He's 10 weeks today, and the list of things he's doing gets longer and longer. I haven't caught him looking at his hands yet, but he did figure out how to use them. He played with his rattle yesterday. He doesn't roll over as much anymore, but I try to encourage him as much as possible. We're also practicing "assisted" sitting, and "pulling up to sit". He absolute LOVES his tummy time pillow. Nothing but ooohs and aaahhs when he's on it.
I'll update more on Friday when he has his 2 month appointment (and gets his shots)
Leaving him overnight
I don't know yet. We don't have anything planned. I did leave him for a day with DH when I was at a Spa, but that wasn't overnight. I might leave him this weekend overnight with DH b/c of bachelorette party, but I'm not sure yet. He'll be 2,5 months old then.
G had his 4 week appointment yesterday. He is off the charts for both height & weight -- 12lbs, 13oz and 23 3/4 inches tall. The nurse said that's the size of the average 3 month old!
It kind of makes me sad that I never got to have a little tiny baby, but at the same time I just love all of his rolls!
I feel like he's changing so fast. He's awake longer & much more alert now, and he'll make eye contact with me or follow objects with his eyes. Yesterday I put a rattle in his hand and he was amazed by it and stared at it for about 10 minutes. And when he hears me or DH he turns his head to look for us. I know those are all such little things but they seem so huge to me right now!
Leaving him overnight: I can't imagine doing it! It will probably be a while before I do. So far I've only left him for an hour or less, and even that has only happened a few times and every time I worry about him the entire time I'm gone. I started pumping & bottle feeding him this weekend, and he took the bottle like a champ so I'll soon be able to be away from him for longer than that, but I don't want to yet!
We are leaving her overnight for the first time this weekend! I am very nervous about it. We will be gone for 4 days and I know I am going to miss her so much and I don't think I am really even looking forward to this trip that much
I had the afternoon off of work today, so I went to pick up some of the baby things being stored at my mom's house. I brought it all inside, now I'm working on getting it organized in the baby's room! We'll be getting our crib soon, and once we have the anatomy scan I know things will happen like crazy so I want to get a head start.
I'm feeling alright these days, better than I have since finding out I was PG. I have had a lot of work-related stress in the last week, but I think it's all going to work out. I've been trying not to let that get to me; I don't know if that's the reason I'm not sleeping well, or it's the backache/not being comfy on my sides that is doing it.
As for leaving the LO, we don't have any trips or anything planned for after the baby is born, even though I know it's still a good distance away. I just don't know when I'll be comfortable leaving the baby, especially since my MIL is constantly complaining about "how can it really be a vacation if people don't take their kids with them..." or "we always took our kids out of town with us and wouldn't have done it any other way". I would definitely like to take a little getaway with DH at some point, but who knows.
I'm a bit delayed today with lots of activity going on in our house!
Any news or updates? My 40 weeks appointment was today and my mom, who's visiting from Ohio until Sunday (!) was able to join. I have full details here on my blog, but essentially, I'll go for the NST tomorrow w/DH. If my fluid is low they'll admit me then for induction (mom and my other lil sis who's visiting will bring my bag and car seat to the hospital). If everything's fine the dr. said she'll probably want to induce Friday as she doesn't see any reason for letting me go past 41 weeks. Currently my cervix is unfavorable and she stripped my membranes which was horribly painful. I have a very high pain threshold (I barely blink when I get Brazilian waxes) but this was one of the most intense painful experiences I've ever had. We'll see if that gets things going on their own . . . Other good news is that baby's furniture arrived today. We hadn't really stressed about getting it since baby girl will be in our room for at least the first 3 months but my mom ordered it and had it sent anyway and it looks great! Can't wait to finish decorating the room then I'll post pics on my blog, but still not feeling too pressured to get this done.
When did you/will you first leave your LO overnight? No plans for this yet, but I imagine not before 1 year old as I plan to BF until then.
Gianna is doing awesome!! I really can not believe how good of a baby she is...She literally only cries when she is tired or wants to eat, other than that she is all smiles all the time....
We are leaving G for the first time over night over Labor Day weekend.....DH and I are going to the Keys with a bunch of friends for 3 days and Gianna is going to stay with my Mom. And my Mom is so excited....Gianna will be a little over 4 months old when we leave her for the first time!
