Crap...just remembered...

My plan is to stay home and labor as long as possible, even if that means leaving when I start feeling the need to push.

Even though I don't live far from the hospital, my midwife does!  I'm like 5 minutes, but she lives out in the country, I'm guessing at least a 20 minute drive, if she's not caught in the middle of chores on her hobby farm and needs to clean up first.

Hmm....hopefully I go into labor and am ready during her work day....otherwise I'll just have to keep closely in touch as we're getting close.

Would she meet you at your house a bit before you're ready to leave for the hospital, then follow you there?  Or could you call her when you're starting to pack the car (or a bit before) and ask her to leave before you do?
