I saw in someone's siggy a link to a blog about doing IVF in Costa Rica. I can't for the life of me remember whose it was.
Anyway, it got me curious (I did IVF here in Atlanta). I'm guessing it's much cheaper than doing it here. How long do you have to stay in CR for? How much does it cost there? Is this a common thing and I just completely missed it?
Re: IVF in Costa Rica?
Ah! You're the one whose siggy I saw it in
That is a TON cheaper than my procedure was here. If you have extra embryos (that are not transferred) do they stay in Costa Rica? Was the doctor educated in the states?
I am curious because I have a friend who was told IVF is pretty much her only shot at pregnancy, but they can't afford it. I'm going to tell her to investigate this Costa Rica thing
Yes, you can freeze them in CR, you would have to go back down there for a FET though.
Before you suggest it to a friend, I would like to talk to you about a few things if you want to email me @ christadotnielsenatgmail.com:)

My friend went to Canada for her IVF treatments and I think it costs around $4000 for everything? She had a great experience and was thrilled when it worked.
Just another option.
