If you sew or have made a tu-tu, please come in

I'm in the midst of making Lil Miss a tu-tu (she out grew the one Auntie Lisa made her) and I am wondering how it could be sewn?  Its turning out really cute, so I would like it to last.

On Etsy, a lot of tu-tus are listed as hand sewn, but the tulle looks to be knotted over the waist band.  Should I go back and sew the tulle after it is all knotted?

Let me see a pic of what you're doing. Do u have a link? Most I've seen just have tulle tied to a center piece of elastic.
