How can I get my milk back?

I breastfed and pumped at first, for about a month. Then I had a surgery and was on medication so i stopped breastfeeding and did not pump and now my milk is gone. DS now does not even attempt to breastfeed, it's like he knows there is nothing for him. I have been without milk for over a month and not pumping. My question is whether it is possible to get my milk back or is it gone for good?

    A month is quite a long time.  I'd check with an LC, but maybe try pumping several times a day for several days to see if you can get it going again

    You probably can get it back - good "relactation" and you should get some good information. If you have surgery again, or are taking meds that LO can't have just keep pumping and dump the milk till you're ready to feed him again. Good luck!
