Parenting after 35

What did he eat??

Matty and I were playing peek a boo behind the cream silk shantung curtains in the nursery.   At one point he was giggling and I could see his feet were pointed towards the window.  When I opened the curtain his face was covered in some gray muck and he was chewing on something.

At some point the nanny had opened the window and Matty was eating something that had been between the window and the screen.  His hands were wet from sticking them in his mouth, the sill was dirty with years of sludge and he got it everywhere! (Hence my previous reference to the cream silk curtains.)

I tried to get whatever it was out of his mouth but could not see a thing.  Maybe it is better I have no idea what he put in his mouth?

The space between the window and screen is now very clean after some good scrubbing!

  • Don't even think about it.  A little dirt (or bugs) never hurt anyone. Huh?

  • The couple times I caught Sienna looking like she had something she was gagging on (not bad, just a little) I of course tried to get it out with my finger. When I couldn't I just gave her some water to wash it down with. LOL. it was probably something small she cleaned off the floor.

  • What's that saying? "God made dirt and dirt don't hurt."   I will always remember when my #1 DS was 3, I caught him eating a dead fly he found on the windowsill.  Without batting an eye, he said, "tastes like chicken." LOL!

Just don't even try to think about it:)

  • ehhhh, a little dirt or a dead spider won't hurt him.  I know I don't have to remind you that he will most likely taste far worse in the coming months ... and for that reason, I keep Nicholas FAR away from the kitty litter! Stick out tongue
