Trouble TTC

Injectable Poll

This may have been asked before but I didn't see it. Just wondering if you give yourself shots or if your husband does.  I personally can not do it.  I have to look away.  I would be fine if I had to do it to someone else but for some reason can't do it for myself.[Poll]

Re: Injectable Poll

  • He does them if he's home and available.  I just like him to know what I go through.  :) But I've done them myself often.  And my dad did my first PIO shot.  (That was awkward!)

  • I've only ever had to do a trigger by myself and DH did it.  But if (when) we start injectibles he will still have to do it.  I look away too.  I'm sure I could work up the courage to do it myself, but if DH is willing and has no fear of needles I'll let him!

I'm impressed! I keep checking off when the shot is done on the calendar they mailed me.  It helps me feel that there aren't too many shots left.  Although they aren't as bad as I thought they were going to be. I will see if I feel that way tomorrow once I am up to 3 a day.

  • DH did my first trigger shot because I was so nervous that as soon as I stuck it in I'd flinch and it would pull back out.  I've done all my other shots since then.

DH will do my PIO shots.  I might consider asking nurse BFF if she'll help him do the first one since those shots scare the crap out of me.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

It was very embarassing to be getting a shot in the bareass from my very proper and un-demonstrative English dad.  :)

L, the PIO doesn't really hurt.  It's the soreness after that gets you.  Don't worry!

  • My first trigger shot is coming up and DH is most cerianly doing it.  I don't think I could give myself the shot, too nervous.  DH is very excited about and is practicing by pretending to give me a shot everytime I walk by him.
  • I voted "SS".  I do all my injections that I can.  I like to have the control and they are easy enough.  Once I start the PIO shots in the behind MH will have to do those.

I lamintaed the calendar (excel spreadsheet) and check off everything including PNV & baby aspirin with a Super Fine Sharpie. My RE even leaves a cloumn for notes (like follie / sperm counts). I am going to put it in our future baby book :)

I give myself injections.  I am a nurse so it shouldn't be hard, but every time I have to do it I take a deep breath and inject.  Funny my DH offered to give them to me, I old him hell no, you don?t know how to give injections silly man.
