My PCP has not been very good with changing the dosage of my thyroid meds per the RE. The RE won't do it directly or even offer any advise ( as they think it's the PCP's jurisdiction).
My latest b/w showed my TSH is now 2.67 . The RE wants it below 2.5 . So, I had to tell my PCP this ( which she was not happy with) and she decided to bump me from 75 mcg to 100 mcg of levoxyl. Since I only have a small way to go, I'm a bit worried that she didn't just move me to 88 mcg instead. The dosage change from 50 to 75 mcg brought it from 5.4 down to the 2.67. I'm worried that bumping it up the same amount ( 25 mcg) will make it drop to be in the hyperactive range and would be like throwing this IUI out the window. I tried questioning her on the 100 mcg dosgae and she was a bit rude. Needless to say, I called up the only endocrinologist in my area that takes my insurance. The bad part? They couldn't get me in until 8/16 .

Unfortunitely, no. Anytime I ask, they say it's up to the prescribing doctor.
