With how much we have all learned about how things "really" work, have any of you ever stopped and thought "Since I seem to know more about TTC than most OB/GYN's, maybe I should become a doctor" ?
Just my totally random thought for today
"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." -- Dale Carnegie "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." --Thomas A. Edison
I applied and was accepted to an 18 month Nursing program (since my undergradute covered all of the pre-reqs), right before our wedding.
MH didn't want me to go because he expected me to be a stay at home mom 9 months after our wedding and he didn't like the idea of us putting our future child in daycare while I went to school.
It will always be a dream of mine to actually work hands on with patients, but one I probably won't get to see come true until our future kids start school.
Ironically: I would be gradutaing as an RN in November and there is no way I will be a Mom by then.

We'd probably be too broke to pay for med school...haha My mom is a nurse and genuinely believes that nurses end up knowing just as much as the doc's and are often the ones really "running the show"! My hat goes off to all you nurses out there!

Nope I wouldn't want to deal with patients like me!!
Good point. I admit that I'm a total PITA patient. How I think of it, though, is that if I'm not my own advocate, who will be?

As a nurse married to a physician I can say I don't think someone could pay me enough to go to med school. Talk about intense- after 4 years of doing really well in college to do really well on the MCAT to get into a good school that's 4 more years that you have to do really well in so that you can get accepted into a good residency program that's another 4 or 5 years... ugh. Not to mention that as a resident you practically eat, sleep, and breathe at the hospital. Like the OP was going to do, I did an 18 month BSN program, and then was able to work. Screw this 12 years of higher education and ruling your life thing!
I've actually thought about going back to school to be an ultrasound technician.
That would be a really cool job!

You should reapply to nursing school. The beauty of being a nurse is that it's very flexible you can work swing shifts, days, nights, weekends. 12hr shifts so you will have 4 days off a week. It's wonderful.
