Pregnant after IF

I miss vegetables!

I just have no desire for them and when I do force myself to eat them, they taste funny. Before I got pregnant I was convinced that I would only eat health and organic. Now all I can handle is grilled cheese and chicken mcnuggets. Sad.

  • I could've written with for my pregnancy with Ella, they tasted funny and got lodged in my throat.  I'm sorry, you had good intentions.

  • I was like that for awhile and then all of a sudden I started craving them like crazy...hopefully you get your taste for them back.

  • I'm having the same problem. I used to love salads and fresh veggies and roasted veggies but now, they make me feel sick just thinking about them. Bagels are my best friend.

I did have a fleeting craving for a ceaser salad so I may explore that today and see how it goes.

  • I miss veggies, too.  I've been having digestive issues this whole pregnancy and fresh fruit and veggies are big culprits which stinks.  I've found if I make a smoothie with fruit, juice or yogurt, and a handful of spinach that it's easier to stomach.

  • i couldn't eat them from mid-first tri until about 1 week ago. I'm still scared to try most veggies, but at least I can eat a little salad again. That's a relief.

I joke that Smudge HAS to be a boy because s/he would only let me eat red meat and cheese for the longest time. That was it.

I'm really glad I can start eating chicken breast and salad again. I'm not overdoing it - but it's nice for a change to get back to healthy.

  • I'm having the same issues with healthy foods - grilled chicken, salads, were all foods I enjoyed before but now they just don't sound good.  I need comfort type foods.  I'm basically eating a kids diet and way too many carbs.  :(

I too thought I would be super healthy and careful with my weight gain and exercise.  I've been cleared to do some light cardio but can't bring myself to do it!!

  • I used to love veggies. Pre-preg I would eat between 9-12 servings of veggies and fruits a day, mostly veggies. Now I can barely choke down 3-5 servings a day. For me, I can handle fruits in smoothies with yogurt and milk and veggies are better raw with hummus or in a small salad.

  • going thru the same thing - i am a dietitian so i thought i'd have the perfect balanced healthy diet - but just looking at vegetables/salad often makes me want to vomit Ick!  So sadly i typically don't get too much in a day and due to m/s i tend to have a heavily carb filled diet since that is what my bosy seems to tolerate :-/  But i just figure i got to do what i can deal with and in general try to make sure i do my best to get a little variety/balance in my diet and not too much junk.
