Unnerved--horrible IRL story

I deal with a lot of shady people on my caseload.  I have a new guy on my caseload who has just been released from the state on two counts of child molestation.  Because he is disabled, he was released to a supported living situation.  He has a "line of sight" of 20 feet at home and 3-5 feet while out in the community.  That is how far (max) he should be from his staff.  I was summoned to a meeting today because they found two pairs of little girl panties (size 2T and size 6) in his bed.  My stomach has been turning all day.  That is the size that DD wears.  His story is that he lifted them from the trash.  I hope that is true.

I have to get out of this job!

How the FVCK was he let out of their sight? If anything has happened to any child due to their neglect, THEY should suffer legal consequences.

After 3 years of law school, on most issues I can see the reasoning behind the punishment/laws for various crimes regardless of my personal feelings, but not when it comes to child molesters.  They are such vile vile human beings.

I have a client that continues to fail lie dectectors for being sexually explicit towards young boys.  And he would always ask me about my son.  ::::shudder::::

His penis and hands should be cut off.  Seriously.  Not afraid to say it.  Child molesters should have it tattooed on the head and locked up with the serial killers.

I can't really follow up with more information esp with the delete button being so testy.   I had to get this off my chest although, not quite sure it helped. Yes, social work sucks and no, it doesn't pay well.

I work for a Human Service agency that runs residential programs and a lot of our individuals have criminal backgrounds-so I've heard some scary stories as well.  I only hope the staff was doing their job and following his plan so that he in fact wasn't out of sight!

I had to leave my field because of the vile crap I had to see every day...and I still feel guilty because it needs to be dealt with. But as a mom of young kids I could.not.deal.

And there is my sister (no kids of course!) who heads up a sexual offender program and completely believes in rehabilitating these sick individuals. 100% believes they can be fixed and returned to society to leave normal lives. Needless to say we NEVER discuss her line of work.

I truly hope this guy is telling the truth.
