Dayton Area New Moms?

I am looking to meet other new mothers in the Dayton area.  My lo is 1 month old.  Anyone from Dayton??

Re: Dayton Area New Moms?

  • I am not a new mom, but will be again soon.  I'm from North Dayton and there are a couple of other girls on here.  Are you looking for things to do in particular?

  • Do you know of a good way to meet other moms in Dayton??  I can't seem to find any kind of "new moms group" or anything.  I'm a first-time mother and I'd just like to meet some other mothers and get out of the house...

  • I am not sure where you are located, but I am involved in a lot of activities on the South side of Dayton.  Centerville Park District has a stroller strength class on Mondays and Thursdays that is free, but you need to enroll through the park website.  It is full until the fall enrollment (towards the end of August).  Centerville-Washington Township Library has an infant story time that is free, but you need to enroll in person in September.  There is usually a line, as this is a very popular program.  Kids R Tops has a gymboree sort of class and mommy and me swim classes starting at 6 months.  Also, Washington Twp. Rec Center offers a lot.
  • South of town moms, like the Centerville area have lots of activities.  There is a very active group called MOPs (moms of preschoolers) that do a lot of activities together, I can find out a contact for you.  I know there are moms in it with young babies too, not just preschoolers.

  • There is a South Dayton Moms group that I know of, and then there are classes around the whole area for parents of kids of any age. We did a GTG once with the Dayton moms from the Bump, also, so when we have another, you can come to that!

  • Another dayton mommy here. Like PP said we have had a dayton bumpie gtg which was fun and we should totally do again. I also met many of my good mommy friends through La leche so if that is something that would pertain to you. Our group does weekly playdates.

Which part of town are you looking for? Definitly check out the info PP's mentioned. Good luck

  • I met a lot of my mom friends through a post-partum class that Kettering offered (where I delivered).  We met every Friday for a month, and then our group continues to meet on Saturdays.  We try to meet up every Saturday, but sometimes it's every other Saturday.  Babies there range from 3 months to 5 months.  We're meeting this Saturday at Carriage Hill if you're interested.  Usually we bring lunch and eat and then just chat for a while or walk if it's nice.  Sometimes we go to the mall, or a breakfast place.  PM me if you want more info.

  • If you are looking for a great moms group check out www.daytonfamilynetwork.com Very organized, always something to do for children of all ages! The group was started in 87, so its not a new group that is just trying to get started.
