Pregnant after a Loss

I'll be pregnant forever! vent!

I went in for my 40 week appt today and got the worst news!  I haven't changed at all in two weeks!  I'm still 1 cm and 50% effaced.  I was supposed to be induced this Thursday, but my doc (whom I love) said she wants me to wait until next week!  I understand her not wanting to induce when I'm not "ideal" but I feel like this baby is never going to get here.  My doc said I'm not even dilated enough to break my water or strip my membranes and she doesn't want to induce me then have to do a C-section.  My biggest disappointment is that my parents are out of town next week, they assumed I would have this baby by 41 weeks!  I really want my mom there for this one.

  • I'm sorry... That stinks! I know the feeling- I was the same way with my first two. Its a bummer!! I'm sure you've tried everything, but maybe get to walking, spicy foods, sex and all of the other goodies "they" say to try.

  • well, I wouldn't call it the "worst" news so long as baby is ok and all. but I can understand you're disappointed and want your little one in your arms as opposed to your ute.

I hope that you can have your little one soon, my MW advises against inducing too soon because the labors are hard, long and more painful and lead to more c-sections. So, probably what your doc has already told you.

I certainly hope you get to meet your baby soon, did your doctor suggest any natural ways to induce labor? My MW said there are some, but won't tell me what until I'm 40 weeks. (guess she doesn't trust me, ha)
