We love Grace but it sounds a little odd with our last name. Gracie sounds better and we would call her that but DH won't name her what he calls "a nickname." I've researched all variations of Grace and this is the only one I like.
Potential middle name? Too boyish? Good compromise so I can have my little Gracie? TIA!

Re: Gracen- for a girl?
Unfortunately, I think you're about to get bashed. This name has been brought up here several times now, it's almost universally disliked.
I don't hate it, but I definitely don't love it. Perhaps you could name her FIRSTNAME GRACE LASTNAME and still call her Gracie? I normally wouldn't suggest that, but it's far better than using Gracen.
Edited to fix my stupid typo.
eek! I haven't been on lately to see this name get bashed. I guess I'll brace myself.
Just wish DH (and I ) had a better last name:)

i never really had a big opinion until a couple weeks ago. I was at the park and heard a mom yell out to her DD - and called her Gracen. I didn't like it. At all.
To me it's very much a boys name, and spelling it in a feminine manner doesn't matter when you're speaking it.

I proactively looked for the most traditional spelling as I am not a fan of unique spellings either.
But now that you mention "Graycyn"....

Regardless of the fact that the spelling is different, no one is going to know that this isn't the male name Grayson. They sound exactly the same. That said, I hate it for a girl. The name is all boy to me.
I love Grace, and honestly, I would just use Grace. I don't think your last name can sound that bad with it, right? I do love the nn Gracie too ... adorable!

I LOVE it!
names on our girl list include Finley Gracen and Gracen Lola.
Okay, so some thoughts...Greyson and Grayson are boys names, so thank you for not spelling it that way. You don't have any unnecessary Ys or Ls or Ns and it's easy to say. So on a sliding scale, I don't detest it. Grace is preferred, but with its oversaturation I can see the appeal of Gracen. With all the Graylins, Graelins, GraceLynns, Graysins, Graycen I see on here, Gracen is your best bet if you're super stuck on it. It's what we'd usually try to talk to someone into if they suggest one of those wrecks above. Case in point...

So no, it's not Nevaeh or anything, but to be clear, it's a made up name that's a variation of the popular Grace.
