I didn't like any of the answers.  I don't put my name or my kids names on any of our bags - I don't think its super dangerous but also don't like advertising our names on our stuff like that - I do initials.

 lol... I remember a friend from the north got us monogrammed sheets for our wedding b/c "don't you southern people like that sort of thing?"  lol.  love those sheets.  ds has his initials on his new backpack. dd's has nothing. her old MMO pbk"preschooler" bag has her first name on it.  she stores her ponies in it.

Being a southern girl, I think it is cute for girls.  For boys it is a bit odd.  Then again, what do I know. Allie is going to have her name on her backpack for pre-school.

since Griffin doesn't walk anywhere with his backpack on - it's not dangerous for him - I write his name on his backpacks now for daycare.... when he's older and walks to school he will NOT have his name on his bag.

i don't pay to have things personalized though -b /c we go through backpacks a lot - he seems to kill them somehow so i'm not paying extra for a name.

I put either first or last inital on stuff for DD. She has a odd name for both and I am looking for the resale value. A backpack is problem not worth trying to resale but I have made DD several pillow case dresses and she has some with a G and some with a H.
