newbie question...need insight

i had a mc and d&c back in january/february.  it was an 8 week process before i finally stopped bleeding.  ever since then my periods have been a lot  lighter than normal.

so last thursday i had an ultrasound to check on things.  my doctor's nurse called me today & said everything looked great, except they saw some stuff on both of my ovaries.  they aren't sure if they are cysts or eggs developing.  it was cycle day 11 and i'm pretty sure i ovulated 3 days later.

 i didn't even think to ask more about it on the phone.  she didn't seem to think it was a big deal/cause for concern. 

if i was 3 days away from ovulation, would it be normal for my ovaries to look like they had cysts or something on them?  anyone have an ideas to help me to stop freaking out!?!

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Technically follicles are actually cysts, so it would be normal for them to see growing follies a few days from ovulation. If they weren't concerned, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're freaked out about it though I would call back and ask to speak with your doctor, instead of the nurse.

If you were that close to ovulation, and the nurse said everything looked great, most likely they were follicles.  It's not unheard of to have cysts form each cycle, around the time of ovulation.  They're not always something to be worried about, and go away on their own.
