i went to the doctor on the 21st (my due date) didnt really made much progress i was about 1-2 cm, i went to work that day and that same night i started having contractions, for the most part they werent horrible and i was able to sleep almost all night, in the morning i started timing them and from 8 to 9 am they were coming about 5 minutes apart so we went to the hospital
at the hospital they hooked me up to the monitors and sure i was having contractions! and then the nurse poked my belly and my water broke! so far i thought i was making great progress and things were gonna go smooth from then on.. i was so wrong
the doctor came to check me, i was at 3 and he said he was gonna check on me at 1:30 pm to see if i made any progress.. so it came time for the epidural, i had it before with Max and it felt great so i decided to get it again, they came to put it in that hurt worse than the first time and when they finally gave me the first dose my blood pressure tanked i couldnt see, my ears were ringing and i couldnt breathe either, they gave me medicine to make my heart beat faster and i finally felt a little better
1:30 pm came and i was still only a 4 so the doctor decided to put me on pitocin so i could make some progress he said if by 5 i didnt do anything then it was time to talk c-section.. while laboring i started to get a fever and started to feel pretty bad.
doctor came to check me at around 5 and said i needed a c-section because it looked like i developed an infection and i wasnt even dialating anymore.. so of we went to do that i was freaking out and shivering because i had a fever.. i asked to be put to sleep all the way because i dont do good being awake.. dh couldnt be in the OR because of that..
20 minutes later baby Sophia Cristina was born at 5:53 pm. she tested positive for group B strep even though my 36 week test came back negative.. i guess somehow i got it after i was tested.
i lost a lot of blood during surgery and dh was freaking out because i have a *no blood transfusions* for me policy (i have personal reasons) anyways finally i got out of surgery and they gave me another epidural that made my blood pressure tank again.. i puked and again i couldnt breathe.. finally i was taken to my room and i saw dh, he looked so worried.. i asked for the baby they said she was good and big she was 9lbs 11 oz (bigger than her brother Max he was 9lbs 9oz) and 21 inches long, she was put on antibiotics because of the infection i had.
i had to stay laying down with my head lower than my body because of my blood pressure issue that really sucked! finally little by little they raised the head of my bed and i felt somewhat better... i didnt get to see Sophia until friday and only got to hold her once, right now she is still in the hospital she was transfered to a bigger hospital 2 1/2 hours away that same friday, dh is with her right now and she is doing great she is healthy but the doctors are being careful and keeping her until next monday.
i'm going to see her friday after the doctor takes my staples out, its a long drive but i miss her so much and i want to *meet* her already..
my recovery its been hard, i had to get a blood transfusion the doctor said i needed it because i lost about half of my blood during surgery, so i got 4 units put in.. he said if i didnt get the blood i wasnt going to recover fully and fast and it was gonna take me a long time to feel better.. so i gave in and got the blood.. dh was happy.
right now i'm blessed to have so much family taking care of us, MIL is with dh in the other hospital taking care of the baby and my mom and brother are here to help me with Max, poor Max he is been suffering with all the changes since dh is not home and while i was in the hospital he even got upset and cried when my brother left to stay the night with me at the hospital... its been hard but we are working on getting the family together again! c sections are so much different than a regular delivery! omg this hurts!

Oh my gosh!
I hope you are feeling better soon and that sweet baby girl of yours gets to come home really soon. I can't even imagine all that you've been through!
WOW! What a nightmare! But a good result after all, with a big, healthy baby and you on the road to recovery.
