Sadly, I am not going on a vacation this year.  I like to dream about vacations though, so I thought I would start a PW thread about vacations (since we haven't had a PW thread in ages).

1. Strangely enough, my favorite vacation was when I went home for my brother's college graduation. I spent the next 5 days at my parents' house and did absolutely.nothing. So awesome.

2. My dream vacation is a year spending a month in each of 12 different locations. These locations include Carmel, NH/Maine, Ireland, Scotland, Bhutan, Italy.

5. Our last vacation was a family road trip to New England over 4th of July week

6. The farthest I've gone for vacation is either CO to AK, or MD to Scotland. I'd have to do the math, and I don't like math.

7. Tie between Bricin's in Killarney, Ireland and Picasso in Vegas

8. Bricin's had the best ever chicken boxty with a modern twist, and it was great with the 2 bottles of wine we had. Picasso had a multi-course meal with wine pairings that were all divine. I believe I took pictures of my meal.

This probably sounds cliche, but definitely my honeymoon. It was so wonderful and relaxing.

12. I traveled to Spain when I was in grad school. I have passable Spanish, enough to barely get by. I was lucky on the trip out, as another grad student happened to be on my flight, and she's from Madrid. She took me all over the city and helped me get on a bus to Toledo.

In Toledo, I just told people upfront in my bad Spanish that I didn't speak much. They were very understanding. I now know the Spanish word for earrings because the lady at the shop wanted to teach me.

13. The coolest historic spot I went was the castle and abbey ruins in Askeaton, Ireland, near Adare. It was awesome because this old man who lived in the town gave tours for free, and spent about 3 hours with us telling us the history of both places. He was amazing.

The nest is also making this PWing experience difficult by being extremely SLOW!

17. My favorite water location is Carmel, CA

18. If someone were visiting the Poconos, i'd tell them to spend an afternoon in Milford, PA, and to do the easiest hike along Bushkill Falls. But on a weekday when the crowds were lighter.

Yes. We went to Cozumel Mexico, Jamaica, and The Cayman Islands. It was a fun senior high school trip! Oh the memories.
